Testimonial is a technique that cites a source or an individual to evaluate a certain product or an issue, but it is often misused in propaganda by citing individuals who are not qualified to make judgements about the issue. This technique of testimonial is often used in a misleading way in order to persuade the audience by using famous people or celebrities who are irrelevant and have no credibility on a particular topic.

This poster shows an image of Santa Claus saying "This year, give a share in America," targeting the younger generation of children who believe that Santa Claus is a real and ideal figure. The defense stamps sell in different prices ranging from ten cents to five dollars. Back in the time period of World War II, children bought 10 or 25 cent stamps to support the military and some children would even fill "albums" of war bond booklets with defense stamps, which they could later trade for a war bond if they saved enough stamps. Many schools held fundraising competitions with other schools to see who could raise the most money for war bonds. This poster directly targets the children by implying the idea that "good" boys and girls should help support the war by buying defense stamps.
